Hi, hello!
As we all know, it’s Black History Month which is a great time for me to start something I’ve been working on for the past few weeks. We want to celebrate Black Futures and the present and many of the wonderfully talented and perfectly ordinary successes in Black culture. Throughout the month, and well beyond, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite ways to increase representation and create a home and learning culture that centers a wealth of Black experiences.
Learning history is critical and learning about Black culture solely from the position of hardship and tragedy can be detrimental. Particularly for Black children who are learning to love and celebrate their worth in a society that cannot be trusted. But, also for everyone. In this portion of Cerebellum, I’ll be sharing some of the content, questions, and activities we do to highlight Black e’erthang.
